SUMMARY: Performs a wide range of accounting and administrative duties to support the accounting department.
DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES…
Answers accounting questions from multiple customer service representatives by phone, Slack, and e-mail.
Handles complex policy situations and strives to resolve all issues, escalates to management when needed.
Handles complex and escalated accounting calls from insureds, agents, and other parties.
Reviews and applies policy payments not automatically handled by the system.
Reviews premium refunds for accuracy and generates payments.
Receives and posts policy NSFs and chargebacks.
Reviews and appropriately handles EFTs requests.
Processes functions of positive pay (check verification, voiding checks).
Reviews and appropriately updates policy installments.
Receives and processes all payments by mail and posts to the OSIS system.
Backs-up for the other Accounting Associates as needed.
Completes other miscellaneous projects as assigned by management.
Performs other related duties as assigned by management.
QUALIFICATIONS:
Bilingual (English and Spanish)
High school diploma, GED, or equivalent education
Acute attention to detail
Strong organizational skills
Either two (2) years of insurance experience or two (2) years of accounting experience required or equivalent combination of insurance and accounting experience
