Responsibilities of Assistant Retail Specialist:
It is mandatory to carry out tasks with or without practical assistance
Aids the supervisor in formulating and executing strategies to enhance operating outcomes
To achieve the desired results, the supervisor sets clear and concise job responsibilities and performance expectations for their subordinates and effectively communicates them to bring mutual understanding
Discerns learning and growth chances to help their team members accomplish improved efficiency
grasps the company’s overarching strategy, then embodies and conveys its fundamental principles to foster a collective spirit and sense of belonging in the workforce
Keeps a close eye on the surrounding market and notifies the immediate manager of any changes that might be needed to sustain the competitiveness of the business
Gives feedback to the supervisor regarding products, suggesting the incorporation of new items or the removal of existing ones
Plays an active role in the store personnel hiring process by participating in interviews
The sharing of knowledge happens on a regular basis, with updates provided every seven days, significant team achievements highlighted, as well as any progress or worries about our work
Fosters compliance with inventory procedures, cash control policies, and product handling guidelines by store personnel to minimize losses
In the absence of their direct supervisor, they are responsible for resolving any operational customer concerns in a suitable manner
The identification and rectification of hazards, along with the guarantee of proper ergonomics and functional store equipment, is of utmost importance to us
Keeps the store clean and maintains proper signage throughout the day
Supports the immediate supervisor in ensuring that optimal inventory levels are maintained by placing accurate orders for the products
To optimize revenue, organizing merchandise in an attractive and orderly manner is crucial
Maintains the quality and freshness of items for sale while ensuring the accuracy of product labeling
Aids the immediate supervisor in realizing the store’s payroll and total loss goals, conducting inventory audits, and mentoring incoming personnel
Manages the everyday functioning of their team and raises concerns to the relevant level of assistance and/or management as required
Guarantees that subordinates fulfill assigned tasks with efficiency and promptness to guarantee exceptional customer service for the organization
Adheres to all company protocols and regulations while ensuring the confidentiality and security of critical information and records

Physical Demands of Assistant Retail Specialist:
Proficiency in handling store merchandise from the receiving area to the shelves; adeptness in placing products of up to 45 pounds on multiple shelving heights
The store demands the employee to perform various physical tasks such as sitting, standing, bending, reaching, pushing, pulling, lifting, carrying, and walking
It is expected that one can carry out responsibilities with or without necessary modifications
Qualifications of Assistant Retail Specialist:
Excellent verbal and written communication skills
Ability to stay organized and multi-task in a professional and efficient manner, following instructions and giving attention to detail
Meets any state and local requirements for handling and selling alcoholic beverages
High School Diploma or equivalent preferred
A minimum of 3 years of progressive experience in a retail environment
A combination of education and experience providing equivalent knowledge
Prior management experience preferred
You must be 18 years of age or older to be employed for this role at ALDI
Ability to work both independently and within a team environment
Ability to provide and lead others to provide prompt and courteous customer service
Ability to develop rapport, trust, and open communication that enhances the growth and job performance of direct reports
