What To Expect (Job Responsibilities)
Provide customer service to patients regarding scheduling appointments, referrals, and maintaining patient demographics
Respond to inquiries from members and providers about insurance benefits, eligibility, and coverage
Maintain positive relationships with customers and act as a patient advocate
Participate in outreach events including health fairs and enrollment fairs to promote services
Assist in documenting processes and identifying improvements for enhanced service delivery
What Is Required (Qualifications)
High school diploma and 1-3 years of office/business experience; call center experience preferred
Strong communication skills, both written and verbal, with the ability to interact effectively with diverse stakeholders
Proficiency in organizational skills and report analysis using tools like Excel and Access
Knowledge of reimbursement methodologies such as DRG and Fee schedules
Ability to meet department metrics and attendance guidelines
How To Stand Out (Preferred Qualifications)
Experience in claims processing within managed care environments
Familiarity with customer service metrics and performance standards
Demonstrated ability to conduct root cause analysis and improve service processes
Previous involvement in outreach or community engagement activities
Understanding of healthcare policies and procedures
