The National Sales Director contributes to the success of the company by generating new business opportunities, acquiring new customers, and selling additional products with existing vendors in a fast paced environment. This is done in tandem by managing buyer relationships and expectations and working closely as a member of our Sales team. This position requires exercise of discretion in prioritization of work and reports to the Managing Director.
Job Duties and Responsibilities
Responsible for sales and strategy execution, including but not limited to Private Label
Develop and lead sales strategy for Costco Wholesale with potential to expanding to other club channels
Manage P&L for multiple vendors, while developing growth strategy focused on financial gain
Cultivate and lead private label business discussions with strong understanding of new item development and analytical review
Work closely with Senior Business Managers to accomplish team goals and provide insight and guidance
Establish new business opportunities from the ground up, including new markets, growth areas, trends, customers and products.
Builds market position by locating, developing, defining, and closing business relationships
Locates or proposes potential business deals by contacting, establishing rapport and cultivating relationships with potential vendors
Identifies trendsetter ideas by researching industry and related events, publications and announcements
Ability to analyze data, at a high level while interpreting and recommending counsel to affect business decisions.
Proficiency in accurate sales and revenue forecasting along with understanding of the sales funnel and successful managing of vendors to daily, weekly and monthly goals
Demonstrate exceptional verbal and written communication skills, and ability to interface with C level executives at the wholesale level.
Meet individual performance and team quota requirements

Qualifications
15+ years of sales experience, including but not limited to selling to Costco or in the Club space required as well as experience with manufacturers and dealing with C- Suites.
Persuasive and goal oriented with proven track record of driving sales, growing revenue, sales volumes and managing warehouse club/retail lines
Advanced knowledge of the wholesale club channel
Exceptional organizational and project management skills
Buyer relationships preferred.
Ability to work with wholesale club channels outside of Costco, from the ground up
Self-starter, able to work collaboratively as well as independently
Strong Business Development Skills
Knowledge of MS Office. Strong proficiency in Excel preferred
Proficient in retail math including an understanding of financial metrics.
Strong communication skills both verbally and in writing. Ability to influence buyers and vendors with strong closing skills
Excellent product and category knowledge
Ability to work cooperatively with employees and vendors.
Ability to understand Costco and Market trends
25%-50% travel required
Able to function well amidst shifting priorities while effectively managing deadlines.
Ability to work from home
