Summary
Versar has a unique opportunity for self-motivated security professionals, able to work independently to meet deadlines and response times, and in support of important missions within the Federal Government. Versar requires highly skilled, full-time, professional Electronic Security System (ESS) Technicians for the accomplishment of complex electronic security system preventative and corrective maintenance tasks.
This position requires technical support for and installation of electronic security systems thereby protecting sensitive work-related activities, information, documentation, equipment, visitors, and Agency personnel in controlled areas such as federal courthouses and office spaces (probation offices, public defender spaces, etc.)
Description
The ideal candidate will provide preventative maintenance and corrective action support of security field and headend equipment for existing Access Control, Intrusion Detection, and Closed-Circuit Video (CCV) systems in… addition to the integration of these systems to monitor the physical plant, people, and contents efficiently and effectively.
Candidate must have the technical experience and familiarity with specific ESS platforms to support the following systems to include but not limited to: Identiv, C*CURE 9000, Lenel, Bosch Video Management System.
This remote position requires up to 70% travel with overnights up to 3 weeks at a time throughout the Southwest Region (includes Arizona, California, Hawaii, and Nevada).
Responsibilities
Perform work on Access Controls, including card readers, electronic or wireless locks, and card, biometric, and fingerprint devices, among others
Perform work on Intrusion Systems and Prevention Systems, to include perimeter controls
Terminates and dismantles devices and reconstructs equipment as required
Erects safety signage in appropriate areas
Use ladders to safely access ceiling crawl spaces and attics, pulling wires, hooking up routes, etc.
Cleans up installation debris and maintains an orderly workspace
Analyzes blueprints and buildings plans to confirm proper placement of wiring, conduit, and intended overall connection plan on a room-by-room and floor-by-floor basis
Performs system testing and signal verification
Assist with teammate troubleshooting needs virtually or by phone, as needed
Assess tools, inventory, and material needs for replacement and order, as needed
Meet deadlines and work in a fast-paced environment with minimum direction
Maintain a high level of professionalism, in appearance and communication with the public and federal/local community members
Maintain, enter, and process expenses in Company system by established deadlines
Perform other duties as required
Minimum Requirements
18+ years of age
High School Diploma or equivalent
2+ years of directly relevant experience in security systems installation
Experience with access control systems and intrusion detection systems
Working knowledge of ESS platform experience
Ability to read blueprints and building plans
Ability to travel up to 70% of the time within the assigned region/territory
Ability to be available to travel with short notice for emergency response, as needed
Ability to lift up to 50 lbs. and carry up to 25 lbs. regularly
Ability to walk, stand, or sit for extended periods of time
Ability to effectively communicate with managers and coworkers in English
Possess and maintain a valid Driver’s License
Must be authorized to work in the US or will be authorized by the successful candidates start date
Successful results of pre-employment screenings, including federal background check, MVR (Motor Vehicle Record), and drug screen
Comply with Company Drug and Alcohol Policy
Preferred Qualifications
Certification in Identiv, C*CURE 9000, Lenel, Bosch Video Management System, Honeywell Vindicator, or other ESS (Electronic Security Systems)
Experience with CCV (Closed Circuit Video) Systems
Experience working with fire systems
Ability to program devices
Experience working on federal, military, or government contracts
Experience traveling across multi-state or regional geographic areas
Active Public Trust, Secret, or Top-Secret Clearance
OSHA 10 or OSHA 30
