Compensation Range: $20.00 – $40.00 Position Summary: Required Qualifications – Knowledge, Skills and Abilities required. Florida certified paramedic in good standing AS Degree or higher in EMS or related field Completion of Level A – EMS Instructor Course Curriculum as defined in 64J-1.0201. *** Level A training must be completed prior to processing and start date. Currently employed by an ALS… provider with a minimum of 3 years ALS level, patient care experience. AHA BLS Instructor certification (preferred). AHA ACLS & PALS Instructor certification (preferred), must obtain within six months of hire. Knowledge of EMT/ Paramedic theory and practice. Knowledge of the operation and maintenance of a range of emergency medical equipment. Ability to practice at a level appropriate to the level of instruction being provided. Ability to assess student performance and to provide appropriate feedback. Ability to work both independently and in a team environment. Job Description: Under general supervision of the Dean of Health Sciences and the Associate Dean of EMS, delivers theory and/or skills training to one or more levels of EMS students in a laboratory and/or hospital setting. Supplemental Job Information: Performs direct teaching and demonstration of EMS skills and facilitates hands-on learning, in a laboratory setting as appropriate to the position. Evaluates and provides feedback to students, as appropriate, using student interaction and demonstration. Instructs students on the most current DOT curriculum as approved by the Florida Bureau of EMS and under the direction of the Associate Dean of EMS as appropriate including: patient assessment and treatment of a variety of medical and trauma emergencies and in the use and care of a broad range of emergency patient care equipment. Ensures adherence to established College, Departmental and Program policies and procedures, objectives, quality assurance programs, and safety standards. Performs miscellaneous job-related duties as assigned.
