Inspire health. Serve with compassion. Be the difference. Job Summary This position is responsible for coordinating maintenance and repairs of endoscopy equipment for Prisma Health. This position is also responsible for creating and tracking monthly repair damage/cost reports for the service line director. Works with Nurse Managers, Endoscopy Technicians, Respiratory Therapists, and other health… care professionals to provide the Prisma Health Experience for all that we serve. Accountabilities Prepares patients, rooms and equipment for GI procedures. Supervises all GI equipment maintenance, disaffection and repairs. Assists the Director of Endoscopy in planning, communicating and evaluating the activities of the Endoscopy Lab. Works in conjunction with a registered nurse. Receives endoscopes in need of repair from Richland and Baptist campuses. Assesses repair need and ships to most appropriate repair service. Maintains repair records on all endoscopes. Creates monthly repair damage/cost report for service line director. Reconciles repair invoices against monthly financial reports. Works with department management and Supply Chain Management to reduce supply costs and maintain quality and physician satisfaction. Coordinates disposable equipment evaluations. Works with Supply Chain and MD Buyline assisting Director in CER process. Follows CERs through the system to ensure timely Purchase Order generation and subsequent ordering of equipment. Demonstrates and maintains competency with all pulmonary and GI equipment and procedures. Demonstrates flexibility in adjusting priorities, patient reassignments, and personal schedule to meet the needs of the department. Coordinates skills check off for staff endoscopy technicians. Assists RN Managers with annual performance evaluations of staff endoscopy technicians. Actively participates in the peer interview process for new employee candidates. Participates in monthly staff meetings and in service education sessions. Develops and maintains accurate capital equipment inventory. Assists service line director in planning for capital equipment replacement. Supervisory/Management Responsibility This is a non-management job that will report to a supervisor, manager, director, or executive. Minimum Requirements High School diploma or equivalent Minimum 2 years experience in high tech, progressive endoscopy environment Required Certifications/Registrations/Licenses BLS certification required Other Required Skills and Experience Endoscopy Tech skills required. One to two additional years of specialized training preferred.
