The American Express Corporate Affairs & Communications (CA&C) team is a strategic function that works to enhance and protect the continued strength of the American Express brand through public relations, social media, colleague communications, corporate sustainability and ESG initiatives.
Based in New York City, the Manager of Communications for Resy and American Express Global Dining, Brand & Consumer Communications, will report to the Director of Communications for Resy and American Express Global Dining, within the CA&C U.S. Consumer Services team.
The successful candidate will play a key role in developing and driving communications programs that grow the Resy brand, driving engagement with the Resy platform, and build awareness of the dining access and value that American Express Card Members receive through membership across card products. The candidate will work closely with the Resy Marketing organization and with many teams across American Express on restaurant initiatives.
How will you make an impact in this role?
Work with the Director to develop media programs and storylines around the Resy brand and its value to diners and Card Members
Bring an external perspective to the role reflective of dining and culture to ensure Resy shows up across media that reaches our core demographic
Provide day-to-day oversight of PR agency to help them effectively work on behalf of Resy
Manage the Resy Newsroom including creating a quarterly content calendar, writing and editing stories, building and publishing stories in Resy’s WordPress CMS, obtaining approvals, managing Resy’s PR image & asset library
Build and foster strong relationships with key stakeholders including Resy colleagues, Amex colleagues and the media
Proactively pitch stories to a wide range of press and field/respond to media requests
Act as a spokesperson on behalf of the company
Write internal memos, messages, taking points, Q&As, press releases, social media posts
Provide strategic counsel and support to leadership
Collaborate across multiple teams within CA&C (e.g., Platinum/Gold/Co-Brand Cards, Global Advertising and Brand Management, Amex social media) to pull Resy through dining-related initiatives led by other business units
Oversee public relations agencies, manage PR budgets
Minimum Qualifications
Minimum 7+ years of professional experience in public relations
Strong writing and editing skills, with ability to tell impactful stories across mediums
Creative thinker who pitches relevant ideas that resonate with press and diners
Self-motivated, agile team player who can bring an idea from concept to production
Ability to collaborate across many teams and a large organization, manage multiple priorities and deadlines, comfortable working in a fast-paced environment
Ability to work with and manage PR agencies effectively
Proficiency with Microsoft PowerPoint
Preferred Qualifications
Experience working with dining and/or hospitality businesses
PR agency experience
Salary Range: $80,000.00 to $155,000.00 annually + bonus + benefits
