The Head of Global Policy will own and lead strategic initiatives across functional teams in Conversational Shopping including legal, product, science, and PR to build scalable controls that prevent brand-damaging and trust-busting sensitive content from being surfaced to customers. This role will build out a program that enables policies to be translated into workstreams that inform model training, feature development, and conversational style. And they will refine, implement, and regularly inspect global policies for the Conversational Shopping organization.
Key job responsibilities
Interpret and adapt Amazons corporate policies to meet the needs of Rufus, helping the conversational shopping organization navigate and mitigate risks, in order to create a helpful, delightful experience for customers.
Manage risk-related details of the product roadmap, and work cross-functionally to deliver a policy-compliant, customer-facing product.
Influence the product development process, driving the conversation around policies, anticipating and mitigating risks, successfully managing escalations, and taking into account scalable enforcement strategies.
Define long-term global and localized policy stances, standards, and strategies.
Build a flexible, scalable global content policy framework with associated internal processes for sensitive content.

Our compensation reflects the cost of labor across several US geographic markets. The base pay for this position ranges from $145,700/year in our lowest geographic market up to $240,900/year in our highest geographic market. Pay is based on a number of factors including market location and may vary depending on job-related knowledge, skills, and experience. Amazon is a total compensation company.
