A fast-growing company developing an embeddable visualization platform to assist journalists, producers, and brands in quickly incorporating data into their storytelling is looking for a Front-End Software Engineer. The engineer will be working closely with the CTO and undertaking shared ownership over the technical work. The company is implementing the power of advanced technology to distribute intelligence at the speed of news and conversation. This will be a full-time, long-term position requiring significant overlap with the PST time zone.
Job Responsibilities:
Increase the number of interactive visualizations available in the responsive library
Add support for more chart types (maps, pies, heatmaps, etc.) in a way that generalizes to a wide variety of data
Enhance the editor’s UI and provide more customization possibilities for the user (adding more data series, annotations, freezing data, etc.)
Provide a way for users to search for visualizations across the data… catalog
Introduce new chart embed types for social media (Twitter, LinkedIn), video editing (broadcast journalism, YouTube, and TikTok)
Embed visualizations in a variety of Content Management Systems
Improve the platform’s embedded WordPress workflow
Monitor to ensure embeds work in production
Build a content management system plug-in framework
Job Requirements:
Bachelors/Masters degree in Engineering, Computer Science (or equivalent experience)
At least 3+ years of relevant experience as a front-end developer
Prolific experience working as a designer and building consumer-facing product
Familiarity with React, d3.js, and Typescript is nice to have
Ability to troubleshoot complex issues and fix them
Fluent in conversational and written English
