Job Description:
Are you interested in transitioning from your current position as a clerk to a role as a digital Reporter? The role of a Clerk – Digital Reporter (“DR”) is to officiate a civil litigation proceeding and to capture proceeding content, including witness testimony.
The Digital Reporter is responsible for:
Managing proceedings as an independent custodian of the record.
Administering oaths to witnesses and performing duties as a State Notary.
Capturing clear and thorough recordings of the proceedings using high-fidelity audio technology.
Creating accurate and detailed annotations of case events and terminology for subsequent transcription guidance.
Ability to conduct thorough research and verify information from multiple sources.
Familiarity with digital databases and online research tools.
Requirement:
State Notary Commission or eligibility to obtain it
Possess or have the ability to obtain certification/state licensure (in required states)
Knowledge of, or willingness to learn about, U.S. civil proceedings
Ownership of or willingness to acquire digital reporting equipment
Confidence to moderate live legal proceedings
Fluent in English speaking, reading, and writing
Proficient with technology, including strong keyboard skills
Professional demeanor, reliability, punctuality, and presentability
Willingness to work as an independent contractor
Note: No shorthand nor stenography is required
Willing to work both remotely and in person.
