Job Description:

Are you interested in transitioning from your current position as a clerk to a role as a digital Reporter? The role of a Clerk – Digital Reporter (“DR”) is to officiate a civil litigation proceeding and to capture proceeding content, including witness testimony.

The Digital Reporter is responsible for:
• Managing proceedings as an independent custodian of the record.
• Administering oaths to witnesses and performing duties as a State Notary.
• Capturing clear and thorough recordings of the proceedings using high-fidelity audio technology.
• Creating accurate and detailed annotations of case events and terminology for subsequent transcription guidance.
• Ability to conduct thorough research and verify information from multiple sources.
• Familiarity with digital databases and online research tools.

Requirement:
• State Notary Commission or eligibility to obtain it
• Possess or have the ability to obtain certification/state licensure (in required states)
• Knowledge of, or willingness to learn about, U.S. civil proceedings
• Ownership of or willingness to acquire digital reporting equipment
• Confidence to moderate live legal proceedings
• Fluent in English speaking, reading, and writing
• Proficient with technology, including strong keyboard skills
• Professional demeanor, reliability, punctuality, and presentability
• Willingness to work as an independent contractor
• Note: No shorthand nor stenography is required
• Willing to work both remotely and in person.
