About The Position
As our Project Manager, you’ll play a crucial role in overseeing dredging and construction projects from inception to completion. Reporting directly to the Operations Manager, you’ll be responsible for ensuring project success through effective planning, execution, and management.
Key Responsibilities
Project Planning and Preparation:
Conduct site visits and meet with clients to understand their goals and challenges
Review and analyze project plans, specifications, and contract documents
Develop comprehensive work plans, budgets, and schedules
Collaborate with dredge supervisors to create execution strategies
Set clear project objectives and key performance indicators (KPIs)
Project Execution:
Oversee all phases of the project, including mobilization, setup, work phase, teardown, and demobilization
Ensure adherence to safety protocols and promote a strong safety culture
Manage project crew and staff needs effectively
Monitor and optimize production and efficiency
Oversee surveys and verify dredge profile deliverables
Financial Management:
Control project costs, including fuel, labor, and consumables
Prepare and submit timely financial reports and invoices
Manage logistical expenses and purchasing of project materials
Client Relations and Business Development:
Maintain strong client relationships through effective communication and contract management
Engage with past, present, and future clients to drive business growth
Prepare final reports, conduct lessons learned sessions, and gather client feedback
Reporting and Communication:
Provide regular internal and client reports on project progress, safety, and financials
Conduct weekly meetings with site supervisors
Ensure accurate and timely submission of all required documentation
Qualifications And Requirements
Proven experience managing construction projects up to $10M
Expertise in Brown Water Dredging
Strong understanding of construction contracts, plans, and specifications
Excellent leadership and team management skills
Sharp analytical and decision-making abilities
Outstanding verbal and written communication skills
Willingness to travel and work at remote project locations for extended periods
Ability to obtain Transportation Worker Identification Credential (TWIC)
Commitment to safety and environmental compliance
Physical Requirements
The ideal candidate must be capable of:
Lifting and carrying up to 30 lbs individually (additional lifting means provided for 30-60 lbs)
Pushing and pulling with a peak force of 150 lbs
Walking, climbing, and navigating various terrains and heights
Standing, bending, and sitting for extended periods
Working in confined spaces and at elevated heights
Adapting to outdoor conditions, including temperature changes and exposure to dust, humidity, and noise
