Monterra Franchise Services is a full-service CPA firm exclusively serving franchisees nationwide. We are currently seeking a full-time staff accountant to join our growing team. The ideal candidate will have a strong accounting background with at least 7+ years of general ledger experience, and experience working on the accounting for multiple entities at once. Responsibilities:
Accurately reconcile bank statements
Perform account reconciliations on assigned balance sheet accounts, inter-company and subsidiary accounts
Prepare, review, reconcile and analyze general ledger balances
Update and review workpapers such as depreciation and loan schedules
Prepare recurring, reversing, and adjusting journal entries
Prepare and file sales tax and personal property tax returns
Work independently and efficiently to meet deadlines at the fiscal period close (month/period)
Ability to multi-task and set priorities
Ability to field phone calls from clients and educate in business best practices
Coordinate with Accounts Payable, Payroll and other Staff
Additional special projects and research driven by business needs
Desire to continue personal professional development
Knowledge and Skills Required:
Minimum 7+ years experience in accounting required
Minimum 7+ years of accrual accounting and journal entries required
Experience working on the accounting for multiple entities at the same time as a bookkeeper or accountant is required
Positive attitude, attention to detail, problem solver, strong work ethic, and high integrity are all qualities needed for this job
Excellent working knowledge of Excel and other Office products is required
Exceptional analytical and problem solving skills required
Strong interpersonal skills with ability to work along with internal and external partners
Strong written and oral communication skills required
Experience with accounting write up packages; Thomson Reuters is a plus
Accounting for Restaurants or Retail is preferred
Experience working for a CPA firm is a plus

Pay: $55,000.00 – $65,000.00 per year
