Overview
The Vice President of Sales is a key executive leadership role on the Sales and Business Services (SBS) team at the Center for Internet Security. Reporting to the Senior Vice President (SVP) & Deputy of Sales and Business Services, the Vice President of Sales is responsible for leading the sales function and responsible for achieving and exceeding the organizations revenue, customer acquisition, and retention goals. This role is responsible for developing, driving, and supporting sales process, pipeline metrics and productivity, territory planning and forecasting. The CIS sales programs target US State, Local, Tribal and Territorial (SLTT) government organizations through our CIS Cybersecurity Services Program and national and international commercial entities, and governments for CIS SecureSuite membership and Cloud security offerings. This is a highly visible position that will work closely with the CIS leadership, Marketing, Product Management, Legal, and Operations teams on establishing sales targets, go-to-market strategy, and messaging to meet organization objectives. This includes the development and implementation of a comprehensive internal and external sales plan that will increase revenue. This position is also responsible for the development of strategic sales plans based on company goals that will promote sales growth and customer satisfaction. The Vice President of Sales is expected to uphold the mission and values established by the organization.

Salary Range: $165,400 – $297,700

What You’ll Do
Produce strategic sales plans for both new product/service offerings and growth of existing products/service offerings
Develop business processes that supports timely interaction, responsiveness, and attentiveness for high volume sales transactions
Develop a deep understanding of CIS products and services, current customer base, target markets, and products offered through Cloud Service Provider marketplaces
Manage sales effectiveness metrics, process improvements and team productivity, including forecasting both renewal and growth pipelines
Lead post-sales team to ensure member success with CIS products and services and to ensure high retention rates
Ensure execution against the revenue targets and goals, including revenue renewal targets
Build a sales pipeline to support company targets while developing, managing, and closing strategic opportunities
Work with Marketing and Communications Team to develop marketing campaigns and messaging for new products, services, and programs
Partner with leaders in Marketing and Communications, Product Management, Customer Experience, Operations, and other key functions to drive results from pre-funnel through customer expansion and retention
Identify, plan, attend, and manage sales team participation in a variety of technology events and conferences
Collaborate with appropriate partners to support co-sell and resell initiatives in support of company revenue targets and initiatives
Recruit, develop, coach, and manage experienced sales team capable of carrying out sales and services target achievements
Demonstrate knowledge of and supports mission, vision, value statements, standards, policies and procedures, operating instructions, confidentiality standards, and the code of ethical behavior

What You’ll Need
Bachelors degree in Business Administration, Sales, Marketing, or related field*
10+ years in a sales management role with multiple direct reports
5+ years executive leadership experience
Prior experience in managing a high-performing sales team
Prior experience selling technology and complex services
Prior experience with budget management
Experience with Salesforce CRM
Proven ability in building and maintaining successful relationships with prospective and existing customers and channel partners
Strong technical aptitude and the ability to communicate advanced technical concepts
Excellent interpersonal skills and professional demeanor
Strong marketing, business development, and negotiating skills
Strong problem solving and decision-making skills
Must be authorized to work in the United States
It’s A Plus If You Have:
Knowledge of Cybersecurity
Experience working with state, local, territorial, and tribal governments
Experience working with Non-Profit
Additional years of relevant experience or a combination of an Associates degree or equivalent and relevant experience may be substituted for the Bachelors degree.
