The primary focus of this role is to manage the cyclic aspects of our Workers Compensation (WC) Program. This person serves as the main point of contact for team members, healthcare providers, broker, and our WC… Insurance Carrier throughout the injury management process. This role supports the overall objectives of the EHS strategic business plan, aids in coordination to all business units (BUs) and assists with regulatory compliance for applicable health and safety regulations at federal, state, and local levels. Commonly works alongside Regional EHS Managers, Global EHS Director, and EHS Risk Analyst, as well as frequently collaborates with facility leadership to help address concerns and leverages key elements of a sustainable safety culture across Greenheck Group. What you’ll be doing: With minimal oversight, functions day-to-day as the single point of contact for Greenheck Group team members, healthcare providers, brokers, and our Workers Compensation Insurance Carrier to triage workplace injury & incident case management Handles confidential matters pertaining to employee injuries & incidents as well as reviews supportive medical file information related to causation, work-relatedness, identifies questionable claims, and collaborates with peers in investigations Assists with directing records reviews or requesting independent medical examinations (IME) based upon evaluations of claims circumstances and facts surrounding questionable workplace injuries Formulates work-relatedness opinions of injuries on behalf of Greenheck Group Initiates early return to work options whenever possible preventing loss time cases by coordinating options for team members between involved parties, partners with total rewards benefits team on fit for duty cases and may be involved in personal leave assessments Maintains a good working relationship with Insurance Carriers & understands when subrogation recoveries are possible by appropriately engaging involved parties at the right time Help investigate incidents and ensure CAPAs are supported to minimize future exposures to prevent reoccurring incidents and ensure proper records/documents are maintained within system of record With minimal oversight, manages details of OSHA recordkeeping within system of record, responsible for reporting annual data as applicable to regulatory agencies Support development and delivery methods for applicable EHS training materials, assist with administrative aspects of the respiratory protection, hearing conservation program, prescription eye glass programs, and continuous improvement of the EHS portion for new hire onboarding process Partner as a SME for the in-house Substance Abuse Testing process Assist Regional EHS Managers for ad hoc projects and support with regulatory agencies (OSHA/BLS, etc.), assists with revisions of applicable Greenheck Group EHS policies, procedures, and practices May serve as secondary or tertiary contact for regulatory agencies as determined necessary Keeps informed of relevant safety & environmental law or regulation changes Participates in meetings to discuss workplace safety & regulatory concerns as well as from time-to-time assist informing plant managers & supervisors of opportunities to help influence safe behavior Collaborates with team members regarding injury loss drivers and assists with supporting appropriate hierarchy of controls to effectively manage BU associated incurred costs What you should have: 4 Year Bachelor Degree in EHS, Risk Management, Occupational Health, or related Health Sciences required. 4-6 years of relevant work experience in a manufacturing environment or similar with both Safety, Health, and Workers Compensation application required. Experience working with local regulatory agencies is preferred. Ability to be on call or work off hours as needed. Contribute to strong positive employee relations (internal customer service) at all levels within the organization. Proficient in PC skills including Microsoft Word and Excel applications.
